Broken Pendant Light

So we had a little accident a few months ago and this is what our kitchen has looked like since then.

Unfortunately Andrew's aim was a little off when he tried to throw the football down the hallway and the ball crashed into a pendant light sending it crashing to the floor!  The look on his face was priceless (along with mine I'm sure...ha ha!)

Now the dilemma is how to fix this mess.  I've been looking for replacement glass, but that isn't going anywhere and as you all know I am changing color schemes anyway so maybe it's time for something different.

Not sure if I could live with stainless, but these look awesome above this island.

I think I must be leaning toward something lighter and brighter.  These are kinda cool.

Can you tell I wish I had white  Love how clean these pendants look.

I could go a bit colorful which would be tons of fun.

Or white....

It's most likely going to come down to cost.  Having to buy three makes the decision much more difficult.  I've found my broken pendant light in blue and white, but haven't been able to figure out if I can buy only the glass.  If I can that might be the best thing to do.  Anything to save money right!?

Same light different glass
Which pendant is your favorite?  Any lights been broken in your house lately?

I love Ross!  You never know what you'll find, but the hunt makes me smile...Lol!  In the past couple of weeks I have found some really cool "stuff".

First, these simple floral things (not sure what else to call them).  They came in a pack which was even better!

$5.99...what a great price!  The funny brown boat thing they came in had to go though!
I looked around the house to decide what I wanted to do with these awesome decorations and spotted a clear jar in the office...nice!

The color popping out of the glass is so cool!

Too bad they didn't have more in other colors for the other jars.  Guess I'll just have to start spray painting..ha ha!

Wondering around Ross yesterday I hit another jackpot.  I found some really cool canvas pictures for our master bedroom.  Score!!

These were $14.99 each for a total of $30, but I felt like they were a great price and really unique.

I love the way they look above the desk.  So cheerful!  Don't you just love Ross?  Found anything good there lately?

Pretty in Pink

It's been a crazy couple of weeks over here!  A sick kiddo all week and a soccer tournament in Flagstaff, AZ this past weekend made projects go to the bottom of the pile.

Andrew had a blast in his soccer tournament

Not doing any projects tends to get me down (although I did paint the office which I haven't shown you yet!) so I've done a simple project to get back into the swing of things!

I found a fun little animal at Goodwill for $1.99 and decided it would be fun to brighten him up!

Nothing like a few coats of pink paint right?!

I used Berry Pink in Gloss by Rust-oleum.  I already had a fun frame in this color and thought this little guy would look awesome sitting next to it.

Cute. cute. cute.  Who knows where this guy will end up.  I have a feeling he'll be moving all over the place.  He could fit just about anywhere for a nice little pop of color!

Brown to Gray

Wow...who would have thought changing a color in an office could take so long!!  I am finishing up the painting, but have tons of organizing still to do.

The previous brown color was very dark and boring.

Busted...check out the computer screen!!

My mother had to stay with us for about a month so a twin bed took the place of the large desk.  Once the desk was out I decided it would be the perfect time to paint.  This process started over 5 months hoo:-(  Why do things take me so long?

Another thing I've done is tackle some filing CrAzYnEsS.

Most importantly check out the new color going up on the walls:  Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore

Today I finished some edging before I went to have some fun at the dentist.  I wasn't able to finish completely so I put my brush in a plastic Target bag (no washing off necessary).  Once I got back it was still all ready to go.  I edged more until I had to go pick up the kiddos from school and edged some more until I had to make snacks for soccer practice.  And I wonder why I have trouble finishing things!!

The new color is looking so crisp and clean I can't wait to show the finished room.
