Perfect Hallway Picture

So my birthday was this month...and no I am not going to tell you how old I am...lol!  But I will tell you I got two awesome gift cards from the same store!!  Hobby Lobby...score!  Who wouldn't want to go shopping in Hobby Lobby for free (well free for me!).

I have a Hobby Lobby less than 4 miles from my house, but I decided to run into another one I was closer to today.  It's still not far...about 20 minutes away.

And guess what I found?  The perfect picture for our hallway work in progress.

It's extremely difficult to get good pictures in a hallway, but I did my best.

Isn't it so much fun?  Eric and I took a trip to Paris before our first was born (thank goodness) so it's somewhere we've been and both loved.

Would your hubby complain about the pink?  This just screams happiness to me.   And I don't think it's possible to have too much pink in your house...especially if your house is full of boys!

Christmas Organization

The weather in Arizona has not been cooperating so it took a lot longer to get the crazy Christmas "stuff" organized and put away.  The weekend I had planned to do it was freezing (well, freezing for AZ!) and I refused to go outside.  Beautiful weather returned and I finally finished!

I promised myself I would not just throw things in boxes to get them out of my sight...lol!  This was also my plan last year, but I didn't follow through...boo hoo:-(  No better time than the present to fix organize my disaster!

Everything must be taken out so things can be thrown out, donated, or kept.

All of the reindeer and lights were stashed in the third garage so those had to be organized too.  I filled each box with only the stuff I wanted to keep (Goodwill got 2 huge bags and an old Christmas tree from this purge...yippee!).

Onto my favorite part...labels!!  I am not sure why this makes me so happy, but I think it has to do with the fact that I now feel in charge of this "stuff"...YES!  I created a label for each box listing the contents, laminated the list (I am addicted to the laminator!) and stuck it to the box.  Finally, each box was put in a home in the garage.

All of the boxes are kept in the same garage.  Some on shelves above the garage door and the rest on shelves on the side walls.  This was well worth the time.  I was even able to get rid of a horrible ugly brown tree box!  I got rid of so much stuff I had an entire container left over to fit our new tree!  So cool!  Now the only thing off is the one "blue" box that holds Christmas "stuff"...lol...of course that would drive me a little crazy!

Coffee Table Style

What a weekend!  We have  been very busy with soccer the last few weeks.  Hubby is coaching the little guys team and the big guy had a soccer tournament in Tucson this weekend.  Eric and Cade missed Andrew's first game since they had to stay in Chandler for Cade's first game (how do people do this with more kids?), but drove to Tucson right after to catch Andrew's second game.  Yikes that is a mouthful!

Early Sunday morning...more soccer!  The boys had so much fun (even thought we paid for it yesterday!).  Andrew's team took first place in their division!

Oh yeah...I was doing a post on coffee tables!  More specifically coffee table styling.  I am dying for a new couch, but haven't had the money to purchase it yet so I decided that maybe a new coffee table arrangement would hold me over until we can get the new couch.

Here is a sneak peek at the couch...love it!
Moving the fun blue coffee table into the family room is a way to distract me keep me from obsessing about the new couch...lol!

Adding some color to the boring living room has done the trick!

Placing a small item next to the large vase adds nice visual interest, while grouping items on the tray keeps it contained and organized.

Have you restyled a coffee table lately or added color to a space to "help you live with it"?

Chandelier Score!

Look what I found!

I am so excited...hubby and I stopped in at a local building supply store Friday and stumbled upon this beauty.  I have been looking so long for a cheap chandelier to spray paint.

I couldn't believe it when we saw this sitting on a shelf in the giant warehouse for $20!!!  Happy Birthday to me...literally...Friday was my birthday:-)

So - now what color to paint it?

There are so many possibilities!  I am thinking orange or yellow.  What color would you choose?

Love That Rug!

So I have to say I am honestly addicted to rugs!  Crazy I know, but they bring so much warmth and joy to a room.

I have been searching high and low for a reasonably priced rug for the living room that would go with the newly painted table and chairs and curtains.

I found it!  It was a secret Christmas present to me...lol!

Isn't it just awesome?  And the price, even better.  75% off at Rugs USA and free shipping for a total of $120 for a 5x9 rug.  My 9 year old neighbor (yes I borrow my neighbors' daughter since my boys could care less about rugs) helped me bring it in and set it up and she loved how soft it was.  Sorry about the Christmas tree in the photo (I did say it was a Christmas present):-)

Bought or DIY'd any cool rugs lately that you just love or that makes a room shine brighter?

Wall Flats

Check this out!  I was watching Kitchen Cousins the other day (they were actually re-doing an entire house instead of a kitchen) and they used these really cool wall tiles on an entire wall in the house.  They looked so awesome I decided to find them and check them out.

Aren't they just so cool?  And they come in all different types...I happened to love this style and I wanted it to replace some wallpaper (which I really liked when we put it in), but it no longer works with my new colorful happy style.

Here is the boo-hoo part.  They are $124 per box and each box contains 12 tiles to cover a total of 32.3 sq. ft.  Well, I would need 7 boxes to cover this wall!  You can't see the entire wall...it's 12.8 ft long.

Check this one out...so cool!

Picturing this on my wall makes my smile, the price not so much!  This one is actually cheaper than the first, but only has 10 tiles per box so it really doesn't make a difference.  Completely out of my budget!  I wonder if I can figure out a cool DIY idea???

Hmmmm...now my head is spinning!

What do you think of the wall tiles?  You can check them all out at in habit living.

Simple Teacher Gift

Let's get this show on the road!  I have really been slacking lately on posts:-(  So to start the New Year off right I am going to share a great and simple teacher gift (one I give often).

I was responsible for the group gift this year and created an accordion gift card holder (that was not the simple gift...lol!), but the second part of the gift could easily be the only gift given if you don't have the entire class "thing" going on.

Simply print out a super cute quote (I just search online until I find what I am looking for).  I found mine at Full of Great Ideas.  She has some really adorable printables...and who doesn't love saving some time?  I purchased my frame at TJ Maxx (love, love, love that store!!).

Once that was done I decided to place the accordion gift card holder inside and hold it all together with a cute ribbon (purchased from Joanne at 50% off).  If I wasn't doing the gift card holder for the class it would have been darling with the ribbon and a card from the family.

And who doesn't love a cute stocking hanging from ribbon?  It was fun doing something other than putting it all in a gift bag (which is my "go to" way of wrapping anything...lol).
