Rolling Cart Makeover

I can't say for sure how long I have had this cart sitting by my front door (literally sitting by my front!).  But, I can say it's been at least 4 months...oh boy!  My most awesome friend scored this adorable little cart from Goodwill.  The price $12.99!  She thought I would love it and she was absolutely right.

The top and bottom shelves needed some work and I couldn't decide whether to paint the cart or try another approach.  Today I pulled out some adhesive liner that I bought at TJ Maxx awhile back and decided it might just work.

I tested it out on top and...Yes!!  It's not simple to make adhesive liner look good, patience is the key!  Cut the piece the size you want then slowly, slowly, slowly adhere it to the shelf only taking the backing off a little at a time.

Very carefully cut the edges with a straight edge.

I did the same process to each shelf and it was completely it!

The best part is that it is the perfect home for a couple of my most used crafting supplies.  Now I can have them out and it still looks "pretty".

What do you think?  Have you used adhesive liner in any recent projects and loved it?
